Rheoceptor Side Stream Gear Pump

The pump is driven by a variable speed motor so liquid is drawn from the process and passed through a motor-driven gear pump containing a rotating cam. After measurement, the liquid flows back to the customer's process. By varying the motor speed, viscosities over a continuous range of shear rates can be measured. An advantage of this version is that it requires little modification of the process epuipment.
